How does SVM decide the final class label?

SVM assigns class based on the sign of the decision function output.

The decision function computes f(x) = w·x + b (or kernel equivalent). If f(x) > 0, one class is predicted; otherwise, the opposite class. The magnitude indicates confidence distance from the hyperplane.
